This blog has been created in order for you to share some of your memories not only of our school but also of the old neighborhood. The 34th Street, the Superior and the Regent Theater, the PAL dances at St. Gabriel’s Park and, of course, Clear Pool Camp and the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club to mention just a few. So please take a few moments and share your stories with the rest of us but please keep it civil as we do have youngsters sharing in your memories.

A Little Bit of History

Imre Sutton, who attended from 1934 to 1937, has written an extremely interesting memoir about Kips Bay ‘BACK TO EAST 29^th STREET’ which should bring back some fond memories. The website (http://www.ps116nyc.com) has details.

And many of you may remember Irving Harris who, as a talent coordinator for many major TV shows, arranged for many kids from the neighborhood to appear on local and national television programs. Irv is working on a soon to be published history of the Madison Square Boys Club. We will announce when ‘WELCOME TO THE CLUB! will be available.
